Aims of Compass

Welcome to the website of the COMPASS Research Collaborative. The COMPASS collaborative unites researchers from 12 UK universities in order to develop treatments that will improve the wellbeing of people affected by cancer and other serious illnesses both in hospital and at home.

COMPASS aims to research the development, evaluation and implementation of interventions which can improve the supportive and palliative care of people living with cancer and other serious illnesses. The collaborative has expertise in researching all stages of illness from diagnosis to end of life, and in all settings including hospital, primary care and in hospices. In particular we have special expertise in complex non-drug interventions. We aim to achieve this by increasing the amount research we do together and by developing the research capacity in this field for the future.
